NASCAR Sprint Cup is on its way to Chicagoland Speedway July 10th and as the summer heats up, so do certain drivers. Chicagoland is known as a cookie cutter mile and a half track, similar to a many tracks across the country but Chicagoland has its own unique feel.
Tony Stewart, auto racing betting star, heats up about this time every year and he does have two wins at Chicagoland but his last win came in 2007. Now that Stewart owns his own team, he has yet to take home a win at Chicagoland, which is less than 228 miles away from his hometown. Possibly only Daytona and the Brickyard 400 in Indianapolis, mean more to Tony Stewart.
Last years winner Mark Martin has fallen on hard times, along with his teammate, Dale Earnhardt Jr. Although both Rick Hendrick drivers have won at Chicagoland, (Earnhardt Jr won in 2005), neither driver is considered a legitimate threat to win in 2010.
Kyle Busch has always performed well at Chicagoland and this season should be no different. Chicagoland is a track that is well suited to drivers that love to hang the back end of their car out and Kyle Busch is a seat of his pants style of NASCAR driver.
The Life Lock 400 at Chicagoland should come down to Stewart, Kyle Busch and a legitimate long shot will be Kevin Harvick, a driver that won the first two NASCAR Cup races at Chicagoland. It is hard to call Harvick a long shot, he does hold the point lead.
