NASCAR offers yet another exciting race with the Watkins Glen International on Aug. 8. This event takes place on the 2.45 mile, 11 turn track locating Watkins Glen, NY. The race is part of the Sprint Cup Series. In 2009 it was won by Tony Stewart, who claimed the over $4.9 million top prize.
The Watkins Glen International race covers a total of 221 miles and is 90 laps in length. The event is race 22 on the 36 race Sprint Cup series.
Online betting star, Jimmie Johnson won the pole position at the 2009 race, he is expected to be one of the favorites in the Watkins Glen International this year. He is currently in third place in the Sprint Cup series point count. That third place ranking doesn’t mean he isn’t the favorite in almost every race he competes in.
